RE: https://grapheneos.social/@GrapheneOS/116353973732143171 @byteback@mastodon.social To better understand the context behind the defamation and attacks against GrapheneOS, need to go back to 2014, when Daniel Micay’s project was called CopperheadOS until 2018 before James Donaldson attempted to steal his project while Donalson was seeking to collaborate with organized crime groups such as Phantom Secure, the project was renamed GrapheneOS in 2019 and will never again be tied to any individual or company in particular. Copperhead’s attacks were taken up by others, starting with Nicholas Merrill, the founder of the Calyx Institute and a former employee of Copperhead company, whose website is a ghost of Daniel Micay’s former project, he was the only founder and developer. Others have also joined the fray, such as Techlore and Louis Rossmann, a member of Kiwi Farms; there is an entire thread on Kiwi Farms mocking and harassing the founder of GrapheneOS.
