I evaluated a FOSS CLI tool whose capabilities would be nice to add to my toolbox did a quick eval of their public GitHub repo among other things I looked at their list of top contributors their names/locations? in no particular order (or in exhausting completeness): Chinese, Chinese, Chinese, African, Indian, Indian, Russian, Russian, Russian, Russian. a few American-ish or Western European adult-ish males. several profiles of undeterminable age/gender/ethnicity/nationality/residence. (I mean, technically thats true of all of them, obvs, at a distance like this. Just a characterization based on first approx of surface observables.) I decided to "Nope!" the hell away from it. I wish I didnt have to live in a world like this now, cybersecurity wise. Far too much "malware bait" out there any more. in meantime I'll write my own solution... until/unless I find an alternative I can trust.
