Playing around with compressing a comic page as jpegxl. Lossless is generally half the size of PNG, but still bigger than jpeg. Lossy is smaller than jpeg, 97 vs 122 KiB. The compression artifacts are still there in jpegxl, but they don't seem as dominant around sharp contrasts, like in jpeg, so text doesn't get grainy... Of course, I am now working at A6 size, so my text isn't small enough to get troubled by jpeg artifacts, but I am hopeful for other's web comics without grainy text.
