@samkeeper@slime.global well I mean he did rewrite the Asuka being eaten by monsters scene but with giant flying babies and the Asuka of the scene was a baby eating serial killer with a ruined womb so I guess it makes sense since he's an obvious fan.
That and the director being the Gundam QuEX show being involved and Anno being a fan himself of reimaginings really brings the picture together

@samkeeper@slime.global That said I am surprised his idea from the trailer seems to be borrowing Kojima's notes on that ZOE thing he was planning where the robots were big creatures since he wasn't using them for anything now
