After several years of paid service, I let my @protonprivacy@mastodon.social subscription lapse. I was expecting the address I had selected as my default address would be the one to persist. However, these assholes now return mail with a 550 and instead reactivated the old address that I used to set up my initial free account. I deeply regret ever giving them money. For anyone considering a paid subscription with Proton, DON'T DO IT. Withdrawal sucks and their customer service is useless. #enshittification
