Thinking about this again because littleun asked me to put some music editing software on her laptop so I opened up the Software Centre or whatever the hell Mint calls it and immediately upon loading it displayed a slur in text so big it took up a third of the screen and thank fuck I'd told her okay go play for a few minutes while I get it installed

This is like some fucking "Do you know what your kids are doing with their computers" PSA, imagine your nine year old daughter staring wide eyed at a slur in a font bigger than her computer has EVER displayed before, asking "Dad, what does **** mean," this is like an antivirus ad or smth, but no, this is the default Linux Mint Standard Experience, this is the standard way of installing software on the most user-friendly recommended-for-newbies alternative operating system
