@shimminbeg@masto.ai It's so unlikely though. Without an organised and seasoned campaign staff, without national party resources, without funds and without prominent party grandees and public figures... If he could get those things together, perhaps with unoccupied Labour campaigners, celebrities, and some rich benefactors to help support campaign intelligence and materials, I'd think it more likely. It seems like the Greens are going to field a candidate anyway, so likely moot.

    @rhys@mastodon.rhys.wtf Agreed. It feels like somebody respectable should step in; I know Labour are concerned about seeming to validate his shenanigans, but I agree about not abandoning Clacton. And there might *not* be that second by-election, in the end, likely as it seems. Getting him out is a net good regardless of how it happens.
