I'm going to make a video of a new song soon. Just a simple thing, political, of the moment. Solo. One camera, one take. What common mistakes have you noticed (besides using AI of course) that people make when they post their new songs? #music #youtube #peerTube #klezmer #folkmusic

@Geoffberner@zeroes.ca For a straight-up mistake, I'd say: relying on auto-captions. Captions are great, highly recommended even for song lyrics, but make sure they're edited to be accurate & to break in sensible places. If you can't find a good way to do that, lyrics posted in the description are a decent replacement. Some other personal pet peeves: Posting the video in mirrored mode. Having lots of distractions in the background. Not including any context / title in the post text (just "hey, I made a new thing" or whatever) — especially if they post a lot of content with the same visual set-up. And I personally prefer landscape-oriented video over tiktok style, but I know that makes me an Old. And of course, the worst mistake: bad audio mix.
