@Savagejen@mastodon.social I don't think the people undervalued me, but Bosch has upper limits on how much they were allowed to reward someone who looked like an IC. The organisation failed me, but the people were good.

@fabs@mastodon.gamedev.place I can't speak to your specific situation, but I have worked places where people-management was separated from technical management for this exact reason. Instead of having an individual contributor doing what was essentially a combination of technical management and administration of systems, they just had a role for that person. The tricky part is that in very small companies, almost everyone is doing a little bit of everything.
