@ltning@pleroma.anduin.net no, not stolen from my project, but it lists 8 projects with various c/cpp implementations of floppy image related stuff and I think this is just copied over and fed through the slop machine to get rid of license weirdness. Or worse. I didn't look very far, I discovered that fdc_bitstream (MIT license) files were just copied over with the copyright headers in the files intact but not the license file for the project. It looks like the whole project tried to be MIT at first, it's still mentioned in one of the docs that actually is not just pleading to the AI overlords while the LICENSE file in the root directory says it's GPL 2.0. Makes me wonder what project they copied over that was incompatible with MIT to make it GPL 2.0 (and in turn breaks MIT by not including the license)

@JennyFluff@chitter.xyz This is fantastic. If actual people struggled to understand licensing (and the importance of it), you can rely on LLM agents to actively, unapologetically and without knowing what they're doing, shit sideways on licensing all the way to the bank. And in the process, through the sheer volume of violations that nobody has time, money or energy to fight, the whole concept of licensing will fall apart as the courts and copyright offices will simply give up on it.
