@emilion@infosec.exchange Right, the basic "no ethical consumption under capitalism" idea. The problem here is "AI" is relatively new and can (should) be rejected at every turn. I can't stop eating, best I can do is source better where possible. I can refuse to use "AI".
We can say no to "AI". We can also say fuck off.

@sharpcheddargoblin@reclusive.blog I think that ship has sailed and too much money has been thrown into the AI sinkhole to just stop. AI definitely can be a useful technology and is not a pure vapourware like blockchain or metaverse was. Frontier models are where most excesses are. Open weight and local AI, such as Llamafile, are the rational direction. The AI bubble will burst in the not too distant future as money put in far exceeds possible profits that can be extracted (the prices for usage of frontier AI models will go sharply up). https://www.mozilla.ai/open-tools/llamafile
