A sketchup model of a single-floor merchant's house, where the shopfront has been enclosed to form a large Shoin (bay window with a desk). Note, the earthen floor portion is the home's entry and kitchen. The module at the back is an added-on private bath and toilet. This house is from a floorplan in The Measure and Construction of the Japanese House, by German Architect Heino Engel (my favorite architect).
