Personally I do not blame the US team in anyway for the whole Red card debacle.
The responsibility for all this bad feeling lies at the feet of FIFA for bending to political pressure. Even Trump was just being Trump, we expect no less from him. but FIFA really made a mess of this and I think it affected the US team psychologically they didn't play as the did in earlier games.
Belgium played to win and they did taking nothing away from them.
