@billbennett@mastodon.nz Those here on Mastodon who have chosen to boycott this World Cup have more than a measure of vindication because of this. I am assuming Trump only got involved because he was asked to by the USMNT management which in itself stinks. The corruption so blatantly on display by both FIFA and Trump will at the very least ruin this game. Maybe Infantino was, in Charlie Dempsey's immortal words, "under intolerable pressure"!
