Matike Mai is a movement led by the late Dr Moana Jackson, Professor Margaret Mutu, and Dr Veronica Tawhai, whose work was collated into a report published in 2016, based on kōrero from over 5,000 whānau Māori across more than 300 hui held between 2011 and 2015. It is special because it connects us to the whakapapa of this intergenerational movement for tino rangatiratanga, looks beyond the imported Westminster parliamentary system that places the land and its people at the bottom of the food chain, and shares a vision for an entirely new system beyond elections. #NZPol #Aotearoa
