Look at what the man warning about communists actually did this weekend: awarded state contracts to loyalists without competition, pardoned donors, punished a critic with a ten-year felony, and marked 702 rules for the shredder by decree. That is the command economy he claims to be saving America from — allocation by loyalty, not markets. There is no free market in Trump’s Washington and no fair contest either; capitalism requires both, and he has cancelled both. —Zev Shalev
