@jtheseamstress@hcommons.social what has been crucial for me is to figure out when it is exhaustion and when it is adhd procrastination.
I thought I had to just find strategies to overcome everything. But! I've found that most times, it's because my burnout is so bad and i actually need rest. That pushing through at that moment will do more damage.
And then try to be ok with that and do something nice instead.
The right strategies at the right time.

@jtheseamstress@hcommons.social and another important one: If you spend too much time drifting from a task and ending doing other things like doom scrolling. Then stop the task and do something fun/relaxing instead. It is better to tap out of a bad loop, than forcing yourself to keep going and doom scrolling. Step back, regroup, recharge, come at it again later.

@nuhn@mastodon.art @jtheseamstress@hcommons.social omg this is SO important ❤️🩹 I tried to improve my exec dysfunction with Elvanse and then learned the hard way that I was actually in really devastating burnout 🙈 I still feel embarrassed at how slow I am now, but doing less, wayyy less, is the only thing that helped in the end
