@Gurre@mastodon.nu Yeah, um, they destroy their copy of the book. In Germany, we have the National Library to whom publishers have the obligation to provide copies of any printed product (books, magazines, even scientific proceedings...) for archiving. For cultural heritage reasons. So, the observed buy-scan-destroy scheme of dusty old copies, which no-one wanted anyways, from any used-book stores will have no meaningful impact on the access (no-one wanted to have in the first place). @juergen_hubert@mementomori.social
