#introduction #re-introduction Using my profile as my re-intro since it seems nobody bothers to read it: "70+ old fogey LBGTQIA+ lady. Retired Production Editor; old school journalism. I can add that I lived in NYC during some interesting times. I knew Sylvia Rivera and her wife personally, along with many of the people in STAR (look it up). I met Marsha P Johnson, tho sadly it was the week before she died. I was active in ACT UP during that time, and went to way too many funerals. Silence=Death!!! Since then, I lived near Wash DC and was the Medical system coordinator at Occupy DC (McPherson Square). I was there from Day One to Day "the Last" except for the 2 weeks that I was sick with pneumonia. My wife and I were married (legally... cuz it wasn't legal before then) at McPherson Square shortly after the cops raided and tore down everything. It was less for us and more for our Occupy friends who needed something positive after the violent destruction of our 100-day activist home. We've since used our 401-K and other resources to buy a plot of land near the Canada border. We raise cats (5 currently) and egg-laying hens (40 at last count). We also take in queer people (mostly women) who need a reasonably stable space to get back on their feet. We help them do the paperwork and such to get resources and health-care. And we're pretty poor with no left-over resources ourselves. We live on social security that we earned during our employment years, and the benefits of food-shelves (that we often provide fresh eggs for). So, I get tired of people who joined yesterday and have posted nothing (not even an intro), asking to follow me. I'm not here for numbers. I'm here to share CATS (and other critters), accurate information, conversation, and anti-fascism. I will NOT knowingly allow fascists, bigots, queerphobes or the like to follow me, nor will I knowingly follow them. Pardon my snarkiness please. But when 1/3 of this country wants me and my family dead; and MOST of the other 2/3 seem not to care, I have few fucks left to give. I'm too old for that BS anymore.
