Unfortunately I bought a portable unit for my room. My reasoning, rooms gets to 38c and sleepless nights could mean sleeping through alarms, future health concerns and also, this heat won’t be going down any time soon.

Portable units are serviceable. Not nearly as good as split airco units but you can make them better by adding a second hose. The air inlet for cooling the compressor needs to draw air in from outside instead of from the room the unit is in.
