@HopelessDemigod@mstdn.social As someone who did get a novice license at age 11 (KA6FDD) and did tinker with electronics, I agree completely.
We need to regulate the exploitative systems and not the individuals. The everlasting shame of so-called "libertarians" is that they got this exactly wrong.

@joelvanderwerf@mastodon.social @HopelessDemigod@mstdn.social even UK Foundation licence (the lowest level) has quite a few questions on basic electrical safety precautions. One problem here with this comparison is you (understandably) need a licence to use most radio frequencies as these are a finite resource and direct harm can be caused to others by interference, but no such licence is needed to use social media and implementing one would be problematic (who would enforce it?) - TBH if it were even possible UK would have already done it by now (even the dog licence was abolished a few years back)
