"There are 3 steps to becoming a sage," the old man said, authority in his voice & a twinkle in his eye. "First, rid yourself of encumbrances. By which I mean clothes." The crowd stripped. "Second, repeat the sound of the universe birthing itself." "Is that 'om'?" a woman asked. "No, it's moo." The crowd mooed. "Third, whirl round." They whirled. "I don't feel sagelike," someone said. "There's a #fourth step: observe what foolishness pursuit of sagehood causes." #wss366 #microfiction

@asakiyume@wandering.shop Possibly the hardest I ever laughed was at a Tom Paxton Wolf Trap concert. He introduced his song about Jimmy Carter's rabbit incident, the chorus of which starts, "I don't want a bunny-wunny in my wittle woahboat, in my wittle woahboat in the pond" and he stopped, and taught us all the chorus, line by line. Then he got us all singing it, joyfully, and after we were were done he looked up at us and said "it's *amazing* what people will do if you just ask them to" and went on singing.
