Dr. Isaacs wrote to the Guardian in response to last month's letter from former Israeli prime ministers and security chiefs. The signatories threatened legal action over what they call "Jewish terrorism" and an "ideology of ethnic cleansing" in the West Bank. They also connected their own government's actions to rising antisemitism worldwide, comparing settler violence to European pogroms. Isaacs says this demolishes the claim that going along with Israel's war crimes somehow fights antisemitism. The opposite is true. Starmer's Labour purges expelled Jewish members critical of Israel's conduct under the banner of fighting antisemitism.
