@gregc@mastodonapp.uk It's a similar issue, but not the same. I'm all in favour of the canals squeezing revenue out of housing that backs onto the canal. After all, those owners benefit from their waterside views. They should pay something to help offset the maintenance costs. The government has been cutting its share for well over a decade. I think that opinion might be rather further from what you'd like. #tax
