what are some people just finding out :child-combatant:s exist? do we need to go over again how a not small number of countries allow 17 or 16 year old enlistment in their militaries? how commonplace it is for kids younger than that to be involved in any war zone? do you think it’s some isolated, faraway problem? it’s likely your country either has child soldiers or engages them in combat in the global south. if they don’t right now they will not hesitate to do either of these things when it is convenient. they will even sell it to you as a positive thing.
