*Reparations Thread*
It's the 250th anniversary of the United States' Independence.
Without the kidnapping, genocide, and forced labor of my ancestors this country would not exist.
Without the continued exploitation of the African American people in the forms of mass incarceration, systemic disenfranchisement, and police brutality this country would not have the wealth it has.
Not only have Black people contributed immeasurably to the wealth of this country but also to its culture. 1/2

What do you love about the US? From macaroni and cheese, rock music, to the slang we use-- our contributions. Yet this society constantly abuses and exploits us while failing to recognize us and demanding more of our labor. This thread is but a partial attempt to redistribute some wealth among us.
