@simon_brooke@mastodon.scot yes, I made that mistake when I moved away in 1983, although the village I lived in was and still is in the midst of an open air factory farm

@urlyman@mastodon.social My own land borders the land of a massive farm which keeps 600 milking cows in a shed half a kilometre long. There are appalling farming practices everywhere. But when the diesel deliveries stop, those farms cannot continue, and the land will still be there. It cannot be worked by one rich family and their half dozen zero-hour-contract workers alone. The question then is whether we move to #communism or to #feudalism.
