So, my commission request for <ITEM> was just declined. I kinda knew I had very low chances, but here's something that grinds my gears: There is something profoundly more frustrating about "artist choice" commission openings. Where you apply, and they choose base on what they like ... and while that's kinda always the case, even if not officially stated, running it as a competition between applicants is just so humiliating. Now it no longer feels just like bad luck that you didn't get a slot. Now it's because you were not GOOD ENOUGH. Try better next time! ‪ I guess my taste just sucks and my ideas are so unimaginative, and it's just my fault that my imagination is so dull it's not worthy consideration. And even if it's not really like that, running your commish opening like a contest does make me FEEL like that. Comms opening next week for 3 hours, only once a year! Now, opening in 5 days, don't miss it! Now, opening tomorrow! Subscribe to the list, join the chat, hop on the hype train! Only the best request will get in, by totally unknown criteria! COMMS OPEN! ‪ *woosh* Aww, too bad, we're so sorry, you were not among the chosen ones, but don't be sad, you can always apply next year, and maybe think of something more fun and original then!
