#FotoVorschlag: #USA // United States Ich war bisher nur zweimal in den USA, einmal 2011 und einmal letztes Jahr. Beides Mal beruflich und beides Mal nur für ne knappe Woche, sodass man eigentlich keine Zeit hatte, sich was anzuschauen. Natürlich stehen die USA und ihre wahnsinnig vielfältigen Landschaften auch bei uns auf der Bucket List, aber das werden wir weiter aufschieben. Denn mit dem beklemmenden Gefühl, mit dem ich nach langem Ringen im November nach #Seattle gereist war, möchte man keinen Urlaub verbringen. Bis dahin bewundere ich die vielen Fotos, Eindrücke und Meinungen aus dem Fediverse, die mir Hoffnung machen, dass es dort noch etwas jenseits von Kleptokratie und Wahnsinn gibt. Und dass es nach wie vor richtig ist, zwischen den Menschen und der Regierung zu unterscheiden. Alles Gute zum Geburtstag, USA. Ich hoffe, es geht euch bald wieder besser. // I've only been to the US twice – in 2011 and last year. Both trips were for business and lasted less than a week, so there was barely time for fun or touristy stuff. Like many others, the US with its diverse landscapes, is on our bucket list too, but we'll keep postponing it. After thinking long and hard about travelling, the oppressive feeling I had when I landed in Seattle in November is not something you'd look forward to on holiday. Until then, I'll marvel at the photos, stories and opinions in the Fediverse, which give me hope that there's still something there that isn't just kleptocracy and sheer madness. And that it's still absolutely worth distinguishing between the people and the administration. Happy birthday, USA.
