@jackyan@mastodon.social ah! Yes, we're using different calendars. The one I follow tracks Matariki rising during the 3/4 moon phase, not the new moon phase. So the month starts with the new moon but celebrations, observatiins, ceremonies, happen later.

@jackyan@mastodon.social *month that Matariki rises except when it doesnt and we wait another moonncycle during Ruhanui, then carry on. I have so much more learning and observing to do. !
