@gracjan@mastodon.online > the exclusion of Linux users ... who make cross-platform software If this is FOSS and is properly backed you can open a feature request for e.g. UI installer. Note that different distributions have their own package managers. And it is better to support their package maintainers. Their work is also hard and rarely appreciated. The best approach is to simply learn CLI, and learn how to search for old HOWTOs eg through noai.duckduckgo. The most important: document your struggles, to the great detail. Then make a HOWTO for others, blog your experience. Software houses can hire a docuwriter for some $140k/yr FOSS asks you to give back. And most developers are bad at writing docs meant for someone not having their knowledge and experience. It is not easy to imagine how someone not having my experience will tackle problems I do not have. It comes only from such fresh-user made HOWTOs on their blogs.
