#Iran is more than half the area of EU with a population larger than that of Germany and has been building defense systems for decades after engaging with war with #Iraq for a long long time. Anyone who thought it would have been easy or short to attack and control Iran was either illiterate (Geography/History) or a total fool. What was achieved was the near long term closure of the Hormuz strait and enough remaining hostility between Gulf countries to make oil export problematic and less competitive. Some US based oil interests benefit from this, some are hurt. The only interest IN Iran and its infrastructure was the insecurity of Israeli elites who can never sleep easy being too close to their biblical enemy Insecurities by the rich and poweful have always costed in thousands of innocent civilian deaths, torture, suffering.
