@signalapp@mastodon.world @brunty@brunty.social Why can't I store my backup on iCloud? Why do I have to store it on Signal's servers? You could still have a privacy-preserving, E2EE backup - but stored in my account on iCloud... Edit: at the end of the blog post they outline that they are going to offer a choice of storage locations in the future.

@signalapp@mastodon.world This is the sort of thing that makes me want to leave Signal. The fact that I can't store a backup was the beauty of it. Any chance this can be switched off permanently?
