@quinn@social.circl.lu I strongly suspect that a lot of it has to do with having been raised with authoritarian ideas, especially: beliefs about reality should be accepted from one's authorities, not from examination of evidence.power and social standing (artificial consequences) matter more than natural consequences TLDR: they think differently about the world than we do. Once you understand that, their actions make a lot more sense (even if they're no less awful). @whvholst@eupolicy.social
