Hanging out on various mastdon/bsky/twitter-when-it-was-less-fascist/usenet sorts of social media, I end up sporadically interacting with folks - I think of it like when you go to the same coffeeshop a lot, you end up recognizing folks, and maybe you exchange a few sentences occasionally. A thing I like about social media with respect to these sorts of parasocial relationships is sometimes I can think "huh, I haven't seen anything from $PERSON in a while" and do a search and discover that they're still doing their thing and appear fine.
