Download throttlers are bullshit, trying to waste your time so you spend money (or click ads/accept offers that generate them revenue). By slowing your download, they’re keeping you connected longer. Downloading 100MB over 10 minutes at the rate of 10MB/minute or downloading it over 1 minute at a rate of 100MB/minute still transfers 100MB, there’s no difference in their bandwidth cost. However, the longer you’re connected, the less bandwidth they have for other users. So it’s actually in their best interest to give you the download ASAP and get you off their proverbial tit so they can serve the next user.
