Took my kid to #REI in the Fenway today for hiking boots*, and learned with a shock that the store is closing permanently next month (August 2026). 😣 I missed the announcement last fall. https://www.masslive.com/news/2025/10/rei-co-op-plans-to-close-its-only-store-in-boston-heres-when.html Hilton's Tent City, gone. All urban EMS stores, closed. Are there any camping/ #outdoor supply shops in the #Boston metro area? * at least she found a pair of lightly-used Timberlands for under $50!
