They think, and they want us to think, that good character and high intelligence underlie their material accumulations, whereas it's mostly luck and the absence of empathy. We are smarter than them and we are better than them. They are hoarders, sociopaths, and criminals who have become rich by being willing to do things that decent people wouldn't.
