UK passport photos. The "no shadows on your face" rule gets enforced very strictly by the auto-photo-problem-detector. You can't have lighting coming in from the side (even if very diffuse). Light *must* be square on with the face, like using a flash. Except more diffuse than a flash because you're also not allowed any shadow on the wall behind you! An evening low-light photo looked OK to me, but it was detected as blurry. At this point I lost patience and put it through GIMP sharpen. Accepted!
