Earrings are back in stock! (They have been for a while, but now with a proper announcement).

And also... they now support sending data via audio! Still experimental, but it seems to work well enough. You can program a pattern in a web browser, and when it looks good enough in the simulator you can send the pattern (which is actually a special binary executable) directly to the earring via sound. The program will then be picked up by the earring through the microphone, stored in flash memory, and be run directly on the chip itself.

If you previously got the earrings with microphone and want the custom patterns feature: you can upgrade the firmware (the hardware is the same). I'll post instructions later for how to do that. Or: if you see me at a future event like EMFCamp I can do the upgrade for you.
