we'd be better off if we stopped making excuses, stopped being like "well we have to walk a fine line..." we should be honest about what settlers did, we should be honest about the way natives have been treated, and continue to be treated, and about how easily treaty rights are waived away or overridden by the ambitions of settlers we should be honest about it, and we should ask ourselves if that's who we want to be. that isn't star trek enlightenment shit. shouldn't we try for enlightenment?
