@cvvhrn@sfba.social Radio on your walking stick tuned to the air freq so you get a little warning who is next running the low level route? We certainly enjoy the things you catch out there waiting in the sun and rain.

@acsawdey@fosstodon.org Thanks and 100% It is an ICOM IC-R15 receiver and it was the first time in the field for it with me. I also have a BearCat 125 which is great but the ICOM has 3 times the scanning speed. You will hear snippets and you are listing for Low level calls and entry points in the Sidewinder If you hear "500 feet and 500 knots" good things may be coming Depending on where you are you may or may not get good reception either so then its sound and the high level stuff can sound like something coming up the valley Sound Up. This is what it is like and they can be tough to spot inbound
