Weird to see there is a bold statement (and an underlying study) from @esoastronomy@mastodon.social on the advent of real megaconstellations (millions of satellites) and ridiculous mirrors in space which are a threat particularly for the 810 M$ US-based Vera-C.-Rubin telescope...

Now I wonder if there is an US-American reflex not to criticise any opportunity of Our Great Space Future (tm), journalistic self-censorship around highly-politicized environmental issues or something else? At least I saw @sundogplanets@mastodon.social cited in a few articles. Do you have any thoughts?
