@bugaevc@floss.social Any object that is sufficient to prove your identity merely by having possession of it - and no it's not surprising that kerberos tickets fall into that, but people often don't think of them that way

@mjg59@nondeterministic.computer @bugaevc@floss.social nitpicking, I'd say it's something that shows you are authorised to do something regardless of your identity, like the (fictional) letters of transit in Casablanca or the Cardinal's carte-blanche in the Three Musketeers. ("It is by my order and for the good of the state that the bearer of this has done what he has done.")
