We already have polls that highlight 67% of users struggle with this step. You are not alone. But it's also hardly a unique issue of Delta Chat. Almost any messenger app that is not named WhatsApp or Telegram has that. The top post was asking about what is unique :)

@delta@chaos.social @Roquette@neopaquita.es to be clear, I'm a huge fan! My background is technical. DeltaChat is effortless for me. I was attempting to paint a picture of how most people who aren't us view chat clients. But back to your original question: DeltaChat is software libre to its core, which means it is driven by a very different set of incentives than VC-funded software. No account setup. No address book scraping. Because monetising my data is not your goal.
