Basically, "don't click on the link in that email" and "don't click on the link in that text message" must now now be extended to Discord chats, Slack chats, Zoom calls, MS Teams meetings, etc. Even when you think you're in a real discussion with a real person.

@zarfeblong@mastodon.gamedev.place I've had that policy for decades. I may know the person whose name is in the From header, but I don't know if their computer is compromised or not and I don't know if I can trust the From header. Same for anything where I'm receiving a message from someone else. If they can't send a URL as plain text, I know how to make it plain text.
