@ploum@mamot.fr @rootwyrm@weird.autos @MedeaVanamonde@beige.party @pndc@social.treehouse.systems @cstross@wandering.shop my memory of 2008 is that the bubble talk went on for months, possibly as early as 2007. And also that the trigger wasn't the talk, it was Lehman Brothers, and everyone was surprised by the exact timing. There are a lot people motivated to keep this going as long as possible even with the market clearly being a bubble. I think it will pop when an ai company can't find money to make a loan or bill payment, and then all of it will collapse.

@overeducatedredneck@bitbang.social @rootwyrm@weird.autos @MedeaVanamonde@beige.party @pndc@social.treehouse.systems @cstross@wandering.shop : Thanks. Not being in the USA, I didnt follow 2008 bubble. And I was too young/too naive to understand the dot com bubble. My feeling is that we have multiple bubble colliding together : the perssonnalized ad/social network bubble see Tim Hwang and @pluralistic@mamot.fr ), the mobile bubble/saturation, the crypto bubble and now the IA bubble. Nobody want to pop those together but I don’t see how it could not end very badly
