@astro_jcm@mastodon.online You can build an AI on your desktop today that isn't connected to the cloud. Open weights, open source, you don't need a datacenter in space. GPUs are still pricey, and you can rent them on Earth now, but it's computers. It's going to get faster and cheaper and more efficient with time, like computers always do. Except Bitcoin which is designed to get slower and less efficient and cost more
