@PallasRiot@social.treehouse.systems @chu@climatejustice.social yes, car manufacturers and policymakers have a responsibilty for motorist supremacy, but you can't just buy an SUV and wash your hands: »why aren't the politicians doing anything about the climate?« driving is a choice. making that choice means being okay with flattening a certain amount of deer, rabbits, frogs, snakes, foxes, mice and badgers, and making the city streets unsafe for kids as well as grown ups, and polluting air and water with exhaust and microplastics. similarly, the US gun lobby has a responsibilty for gun violence, but that doesn't absolve the person who pulls the trigger.

  • @pelle@veganism.social @chu@climatejustice.social I think the absurdity of your response kind of makes my point for me lol You can be as upset as you want at individual motorists, and they will continue to need to get to work. Individual consumptive choices are seldom a very coherent or organized form of political expression.
