@ellesaurus@toot.lgbt NGL: we can only comprehend complex topics, including maths and a range of science-ones, due to finding simplified means of understanding them. Analogies, metaphors, similes, comparisons, and similar things are all so necessary for most of us to understand something. If we cannot ELI5 something to somebody, we do not understand it well enough to teach it, and vice versa with them explaining it to us.
